Just stop any of the executives wearing a red "Topham Park Executive" polo shirt or contact the league at info@tophampark.com to get any information about volunteering. Information about some of the positions in the league can be found under the "About Us" menu on the website.
How do I volunteer?
You can volunteer by contacting the league at info@tophampark.com or by filling out the volunteer section when registering.
Can I still volunteer if I don't have much softball experience?
Yes you can. We have many volunteer positions such as working at the snackbar to setting up the fields to helping to organize team photos, the annual dance, etc. See the volunteer section of the website to see some of our volunteer positions or contact the league at info@tophampark.com.
Why some volunteers require police checks?
All volunteers 18 and over who are interacting with the players (coaches, umpires and the league executive) are required to submit for a police check as required by League rules.
If I have a concern who do I address it to?
Your concerns should be brought to the attention of the Division Convenor as soon as possible. The Division Convenor will be at the games and is wearing a red "Topham Park Executive" polo shirt or contact the league at info@tophampark.com.
What if it is raining?
The general rule of thumb is that the game will be called at game time by the umpire. However, if it is determined in advance that the games are to be cancelled, the league does its best to get the message to each affected team's coach so they can notify the players. The rule of thumb is that if you haven't received a call, expect that the game will be played.
If games are cancelled, will the game be rescheduled?
Unfortunately no. There are two reasons for this:
1. We use every available time slot that our permits give us to schedule games.
2. Our permits run out at the end of the school year when the diamonds are turned over to the Summer Adult leagues.
When does registration take place?
Registration for returning players typically takes place in January. New player registration takes place starting early February. Check the Registration page (link) in December of each year for the dates.
Can we exchange pants?
Yes, "new" pants can be exchanged for another size at the clubhouse each night during the first week of the season.
Why don't Learn To Play & 5-pitch players receive pants?
League pants are not extended into the Learn To Play and 5-pitch divisions to keep the registration costs down.
How can I become a sponsor?
Please contact the Sponsor Convenor. The Sponsor Convenor's email address is on the Sponsors page (link) or you can contact the league at sponsors@tophampark.com.
Can players use their own helmets?
Players can use their own helmets with the following conditions:
1. The helmets must be CSA approved for softball and must have a correctly installed softball face guard for those divisions requiring face guards.
2. Helmets must be free of damage.
3. The helmet must be approved and receive a league approval sticker from the league Equipment Manager before it can be used.
4. The helmets must be free of paint and unapproved stickers.
Can players use any other personal equipment?
Only gloves and cleats are permitted.
