What is Learn To Play / T-Ball (U6)
What is Learn to Play?
Our 'Learn to Play' program is a new way of introducing the sport of Softball to children between the ages of six and seven. This program is activity based followed by a modified game for the purpose of keeping the attention of our players. Our goal is to better develop player skill levels to prepare them for advanced level of play.
Why is Topham introducing Learn to Play?
Topham is introducing 'Learn to Play' to better develop player skill level as well as keep players and parents involved in the game.
How does 'Learn to Play' work?
Learn to play is designed into weekly lesson plans created by our Learn to Play Convenors. The first couple of sessions focus on the fundamentals of Softball (throwing, catching & hitting). The sessions following will have an activity in the first half, followed by a modified game. From mid-season session onward, it will consist of two inning ball games preparing for our finals.

How can I help?
We are always looking for volunteers to help out our Convenors and Coaches with lending a hand during sessions, Bunfeed Day or Photo Day. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to info@tophampark.com.
What is my role as a parent/guardian?
Parents are strongly encouraged to participate and help out our coaches with activities and game play. No formal Softball skills are necessary as League Convenors and Coaches will be there to assist.
Are there coaches?
Yes, there are coaches. The coaches will be assisted and supported by the Convenors and team parents/guardians during the activities.
As a coach do I have to come up with activities?
No, lesson plans will be provided. The purpose of the lesson plan is to maintain structure and organization as well as ensure that skills are being developed and that players are continuously engaged.
